Fear Driven

Our country is sooo... fear driven. We only really take action once something devastating happens. And when we do, it never seems to be enough. There is always someone smarter, always someone ahead of the game.

Hollywood is a nice distraction, but we all have to keep our head in the game and always be aware of who and what surrounds us.

We never now who is living down the road from us. That all came to real on the morning of June 5th. A man a couple of blocks away from my home decided to take the life of his daughter and himself all because of a custody battle and obvious mental issues.

*Fear is making me leery to let my daughter play outside without supervision for fear of sexual predators.
*My heart always skips a beat when I hear a plane over head/post 9/11.
*In an airport looking at the ethnic races wondering... what if...
*Now that my daughters going to school I insist on taking her and walking her in for fear of someone taking her.

The nightly news never helps make us feel safe and they sure don't have that much positive things to portray. But life goes on and we all learn to live with it. So always be aware and don't forget to say a prayer from day to day. Because everything is in Gods hands.

OK 1st of all, I can't see the link to post a comment. I have to guess where to click. Is that my problem?

and 2nd of all, i forgot exactly what I was going to say b/c i was so pissed off about the lack of a comments link.

I do hate that our lives have to be rooted in fear. If I could (and I often do), I would trust absolutely everyone, with everything. I wonder how much different our world would be if we truly lived without fear? But when it comes to my kids, I take on Mother Bear role! The fear of anything happening to them is all-encompassing... that kinda sucks.

stop posting such depressing things. LOL!!!! :)
